In 2023, we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Złota Grota Kennel

The story of my kennel
1978 - 2023

English Cocker Spaniel is a breed to which I devoted my entire adult life, now it's over 42 years.
And although during this time, next to the cocker spaniels in ZŁOTA GROTA,
 they were with us for several years
- maltese (4 females and a male)
- 1 female lhasa apso
- 4 females cavalier king charles spaniel
and currently 1 female flat coated retriever lives with us,
and my husband has always had "his" long-haired German Shepherd,
however, it was my greatest love, and it was for sure till the end of my days
E n g l i s h  C o c k e r  S p a n i e l s

And all this infatuation with English Cocker Spaniels started quite innocently and unexpectedly,
when we were still living in Poznań, in a block of flats ...
Our children wanted a spaniel (probably on the wave of popularity of cockers in this period)

From this first litter "N" we raised 8 puppies,
and we left a black female in the breeding - NEGRA Złota Grota

NEGRA's litter brother - NOBI Złota Grota,
then he became the Champion of Poland and the stud dog in the Poznań branch of the Polish Kennel Club
NOBIE's owner was Tadeusz Seidel from Poznań

    

NEGRA and NOBIE's litter sisters: NEFRA and NORIKA Złota Grota
became breeding bitches, founders of new breedings:
NEFRA - was the founder of the "Olszynowy Zagajnik" kennel - Mr. Olszanskich from Poznań,
and NORIKA - started the breeding of Ania Kuś in Środa Wlkp.

In the spring of 1983
mother was NEGRA.
The father of the "S" litter was black and tan Ch.Pl. GRAL Gaje Arycji
(ORLO v.d. Bergkampe & SAFONA z Warkocz Berenike)
The black and tan son of this pair - SZERYF Złota Grota - stayed with us in our kennel
and then won the title of Polish Champion

SZERYF was a popular sire in Poland, father of beautiful children.
He passed on to his offspring perfect, short bodies, strong backs,
perfect skeleton and type of coat, and its wonderful character.
He probably inherited these good genes from his wonderful grandfather, DRAB z Zielonej Czantorii.

SZERYF's litter sisters live in Poznań kennels:
SORAYA SANDRA ZG (black and tan) - in Hanga kennel - M. Jackowska,
and SARA ZG (black) was the founder of the kennel of Tronesa - J. Ratajczak

 In the autumn of 1983

We had to wait for the next puppies from TROJKA until then.
The father of 2 golden females in the "O" litter was Ch. MEKI Bandola
(golden son of KIETZ v. Forst Rogen & WIWA Xandrina)

OFKA - OLIVIA Z.G. from this litter she joined our cocker breed.
It was the last litter of  TROJKA; unfortunately we didn't have another offspring from her.

OFKA OLIVIA, although she was then a real "star" of our breeding
(she won the title of "Champion of Poland" and several times CAC and many gold medals)
she never gave birth to children.

Fate ruled that it was NEGRA who became the main female of the ZŁOTA GROTA breeding at that time.

NEGRA was associated with the leading stud dogs in the country.
(GRAL Gaje Arycji - 2 x; AGAT Jaxa; LORYK z Male Kamenne; GAZAL v.d. Bergkampe - 2 x)

She was a perfect bitch with a wonderful character, wonderful as a mother.
She gave birth to a few beautiful dogs and bitches, being at the same time an outstanding show bitch.
I owe this bitch a lot as a breeder, I still have a great fondness for her!
I have always dreamed of having such a "second NEGRA" in my kennel and so far I am waiting
for such a female. She was unique ... one of a kind.

In total, 8 cocker litters for the letters were born here:
- N and O - from TROJKA
- S, T, U, V, W, Z - from NEGRA

Time passed inexorably, our spaniels grew more years, then gradually
departed from us "to evergreen meadows".

Year 1989

TROJKA z Leśne Wzgórze left behind the Rainbow Bridge,
and NEGRA has retired from breeding (she left us in 1991)

Year 1995

In January, while still living in Poznań, we said goodbye to SZERYF Złota Grota forever.
In March with our last living spaniel, 11-year-old OFKA OLIVIA
we moved from a block of flats in Poznań - to an old house with a large garden in Czerwonak
(10 km from the center of Poznań)

OFKA was with us for a few more months before it crossed over to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
It happened in October 1995.

And because in her veins the blood of "Złota Grota" was flowing (her grandfather was Ch.Pl. SZERYF Z.G)
it has become an extension of our breeding line.
And so the Złota Grota was reborn and over time it flourished again, in a new, better place
 for our dogs and for us.

Year 1997

ISPINA gave birth to her first children (litter "M")
The daddy of the puppies was a black dog, Zosia Konderla, imported to Poland from Germany

In this litter there was a beautiful black and tan female
MY MELODY MAFIA, which we initially wanted to leave in the kennel, but
after the death of her spaniel, she "asked" Stenia Frankowska from Chorzów.
MAFIA won the title of Polish Champion and Cacib,
and in the kennel "Cockery z Kajmany" gave birth to 2 litters of puppies.

Year 1998 

In the spring of 1999

ISPINA was associated with the golden Ch. KONO Oliwska Ostoja
(PHILIP z Vejminku & SONIA Oliwska Ostoja)
and "O" litter was born.
From this litter comes Pl. Ch. O'KEY ONYX ZG, who lived in Słupsk with K. Śliwa
 

In the summer of 1999

a new female came to us,
this time the first in breeding
chocolate and tan: CARMEN Oliwska Ostoja

Until the end of her days it was my younger daughter's favorite bitch, Dagmara.

In the spring of 2000

came to ZŁOTA GROTA and stayed with us permanently,
black and tan dog DRAGON Renmil
(TORRO v. Heidebusch & DZETTA Miki Mouse)

In the summer of 2000

Litter "P" from ISPINA was born and he became the father of the puppies just
 Pol. Ch. DRAGON Renmil.

In this litter there were i.a.
PRIDE PRINCESS ZG (black and tan female, later Polish Champion, who
is the founder of the kennel "Od Dumnej Księżniczki " - Renata Szymańska)
&
POWER PLAY ZG (black and tan male) - was a stud dog , Pol.Jun.Ch.(owner: M. Rayall de Ragan)

In the spring of 2001

Litter "R" was born from ISPINA by DRAGON Renmil
Bitch from this litter - black and tan  ROMANCA Z.G.
was our co-owner for 3 years with K. Donder ("z Zielonego Placu" kennel)
and then gave birth to 1 litter of puppies, letter "I", with our surname.
Black & tan her brother RAGTIME ZG. (owned by T. Kammont /Siedlce)
 then won the title of Ch.Polski and res-Cacib

NIRVANA Z.G. gave birth to her second litter of puppies,
thanks to the help of Zosia Konderla,
 we covered Eric Pagliosa from France with a wonderful black and tan dog

In this litter, the letter "G". golden GRACJA Złota Grota was born, which we kept in our kennel.
We have never regretted this decision.
GRACJA was the first Polish cocker spaniel to obtain a new FCI title
International Show Champion
Its other titles are:
Junior and "adult" Polish Champion, Polish Winner '2005
Russian Champion, Austrian Double Champion
She won 4 x Cacib and 3 x res-Cacib

A valuable experience for us and at the same time an achievement of this year
winning at the World Dog Show AMSTERDAM 2002.

in the competition of 18 bitches coming from great world breeding.

In November of 2002

ISPINA  Uczniowski Kaprys, gave birth to her last children,
once again with Ch.DRAGON Renmil ("S" litter)
We loved the black female - SAMBA Z.G. and we kept her in breeding

From this litter 3 females later became Polish Champion.
They were: SAMBA, SULIKO and SONATA Z.G.
SULIKO ZG started breeding Eluda - Monika Mikos in Zabno near Tarnów

April 24 of 2003

was a tragic day for breeding, we were hit by a blow!
Unexpectedly, due to postpartum complications, she passed away
to his land of eternal happiness - nirvana, only 5 years old ...

leaving us in total shock and pain, with our seven still blind puppies.

This pain was to some extent alleviated by the presence of three wonderful in our breeding
daughters of NIRVANA, Champion of Poland: black FRASZKA, golden GRACIA and black HANNI LOLA
It is very painful for the breeder to find himself powerless.

NIRVANA was the mother of  7 Polish Champions, and they were:
FRASZKA, GRACJA, GIPSY, HANNI LOLA, HACKER, HUNTER, HAPPINESS
She passed away much too soon.

In October of 2003

"I" litter with our kennel name was born ROMANCA Z.G.
We covered her with a sable dog, Ch.PRESTON Hanga

The father was Ch.KING of SWING Sambalu (black tan) 
From this litter come black and tan: MUM'S LUCKY ZG - female,
who left for H.Partanen kennel: Elmers Goldmine in Finland
and dogs: MY SWEET PRINC  ZG - own. M. Pociask /Rzeszów
and the later Pl.Ch. MAGIC POINT  ZG - own. by M. Stachowiak

SAMBA Z.G. gave birth to her first children (litter "T").
The father is a stud dog already proven in our breeding
Ch.KING of SWING Sambalu (black and tan).

This dog is also the father of the "N" litter, which was born after a few days by FRASZKA Z.G.
From this litter she stayed with us, quite unexpectedly ... beautiful black female
NUTELLA NIGRA ZG (I said that "she could not be sold" ...)
NUTKA brought me a lot of joy afterwards, both on the show rings
and also as a breeding female in Złota Grota Kennel.

Year 2005

In March GRACJA Złota Grota gave birth to her first children ("L" litter).
The father of this wonderful litter was Club Winner'04, Pol. Ch. - golden MARTIN z Vejminku.
Out of 5 puppies born in this litter - 3 females quickly obtained youth titles
and adult Polish Champion:
- LALIBELLA in ELUDA kennel
- LACRIMA LORI with Mirka Czapla (she was later the founder of her kennel "TSCHAMIRA")
and - LA BELLE CATRIN in the Złota Grota kennel.

June is the second litter (with letter "K") from GRACJA Złota Grota,
This time the daddy was a black, titled dog from Renmil kennel - SHOGUN Renmil
(Champion of Poland, and later Champion of Germany and Interchampion)
In this litter was beautiful KODA KLEOPATRA who started her
breeding English Cocker Spaniels in Kennel
"Psy Przyszłość" - Beata Sieracka in Bydgoszcz.

HANNI LOLA Złota Grota was born her first children ("Z" litter), mated with a golden dog,
Pol.Ch.VALMONT des Terres Froides
imported from France  to the Ricci Club kennel

In 2007

I retired and now I could devote more time to my passion.
As a result, 5 litters of puppies were born this year:
In March - from Ch.SAMBA Złota Grota - to an excellent golden dog - Pol. Ch. XANTHOS z Vejminku ("V" litter)
(golden female VINJA VICTORIA ZG from this litter lives in Kaszubski Potok kennel)

and from GRACJA Złota Grota ("J" litter) after previously used for
of our bitches, black and tan male - Ch.KING of SWING Sambalu.
After a few days, FRASZKA Złota Grota made a real surprise for us, giving birth to 1 puppy - a golden female
after the Polish Champion VALMONT des Terres Froides
(we were more than sure that there will be no puppies from this combination,
and nature gave us a nice gift)
The bitch, which we named PEGGY SUE, stayed with us.

In August

In October of this year
beautiful black and tan daughter of XANTHOS joined my breeding

  In autumn this year, the chocolate Pol.Ch. CARMEN Oliwska Ostoja,
and the golden Int.Ch.GRACJA Złota Grota ended her rich exhibition career,
presenting himself in great condition at the International Dog Show in Poznań in November
for the Central and Eastern European Cup - in the champion class,
where she got her last show CWC/CAC
 

Year 2008 

is the birth at the end of March - the third litter (with the letter "W") from SAMBA Złota Grota,
after a young stud, which was our joint property at that time:
Pl.Ch. SENSE OF HONEY Ricci Club (black and tan).

At the beginning of May, NUTELLA NIGRA Złota Grota gave birth to her second litter (with the letter "G").
The father of these puppies was the golden one - Pol.Ch. VALMONT des Terres Froides

At the end of May 2008

from excellent Czech breeding SANT TULIP we brought 8 months old
black dog - IRON Sant Tulip, in whose pedigree there are outstanding ancestors,
(grandfather is the World Winner Poznań 2006 - Doubtless BLACK PETRS)

Later IRON proved to be a valuable stud dog at  Kennel ZŁOTA GROTA.
He won the titles of Junior and "adult" Polish Champion in his exhibition career; Cacib and res-Cacib

 

In August 2008 the "R" litter was born out of FRASZKA ZG, by Ch SENSE OF HONEY Ricci Club,
and litter "N" out of LA BELLE CATRIN ZG by Int.Ch.SHOGUN Renmil.

In this litter a very nice golden male was born: NEVER SAY NEVER  ZG  "HUNTER"
who lived in Słupsk with Bartek Oniszczuk.
"HUNTER" was successfully presented by him at many exhibitions, he obtained the title
Champion of Poland and Champion of Russia, Cacib, res-Cacib, repeatedly CAC, BOG and stud license.

In November 2008

HANNI  LOLA gave birth to puppies, litter "X" after Pl.Ch.  SENSE OF HONEY Ricci Club,
From this pairing, 2 litter sisters obtained the titles of Polish Champion.
They are: X-CANTILENE "NEGRA" ZG and X-SERENANDE "VIKI" ZG.

"NEGRA" is the founder of Cantiland FCI kennel - Ewa Pawluczyk from Gorzów,
and X-SERENADE "VIKI" - starting bitch in the breeding "Lasy Wiktorii" - Elżbieta Kuryłło from Drezdenko.
A few days later, litter "I" from the same stud was born by GRACJA ZG.
 

Year 2009

In spring a new black female came to breeding:
Bleper's BLACK PEARL
daughter of Doubtless BLACK PETRS - World Winner Poznan'2006  (he is also IRON's grandfather)

We imported a black female from the Czech Republic to Złota Grota

In 2011

In April we welcomed a litter, which was planned much earlier (with the letter "B" - 9 puppies)
from Bleper's BLACK PEARL, mated with IRON Sant Tulip,
it was the fulfillment of my breeding goals.
There were 9 puppies in this litter.
We left a black female BLUE RAIN "RHONA" ZG in our kennel.
He made a show career out of this litter
BEST LOVELY BOY "NEGRO" ZG - black male
Beata Sidor became its owner.
NEGRO won, among others the title of International Show Champion
and Champion of Poland, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania and 6 x CACIB and Cruft's Qualification

First Flat Coated Retriever puppies were born in the ZłotaGrota Kennel.

Year 2013

The first 5 litters of our young dog - FREDERIC z Vejminku
were born in the kennel.

She is the founder of Caromon Kennel.

In 2017, she became the Champion of Poland, and in the following years
Champion of Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany,
she won 6 x Cacib and 3 x res-Cacib

lives in Denmark with Karol Frydrych in Caromon kennel.

Despite the situation in the world related to the pandemic attacking humanity, we hope to continue breeding spaniels some time after normalization of life. We are incorrigible optimists ... This is, in short, until April 2021, the history of "ZŁOTA GROTA" kennel. I have mentioned only a few of our cocker spaniels in this description, because it is impossible to list them all. Maybe someone asks if it was worth devoting over 40 years of life to breeding? There is only one answer: IT WAS WORTH IT. Thanks to this passion, I met a lot of wonderful, interesting people, and my life is still interesting and still gives me many wonderful and unforgettable moments. Many spaniels with our nickname appear in the pedigrees of today's cockers as their ancestors. I am proud that bitches with my nickname are the founders of other, perfect kennels of this breed.

Today, apart from the fact that I am still a breeder and exhibitor of cocker spaniels,
 I can also watch them "on the other side" of the ring at shows
and judged as the International Judge of the VIII FCI Group.
